The design throughout The Next Instalment pushes boundaries as did the dynamic Canadian authors Nellie L. McClung, L. M. Montgomery, and Mazo de la Roche in their various roles as activists, feminists, and general ground-breakers. Large, sans serif titles run off edges, exaggerated indents and heavy rules indicate starting points, patterns and textures are used for division, and generous white space creates tension. The overall presentation is not shy, but rather confident and cohesive.
