Fort Saskatchewan River Valley

A massive trail system leading through the North Saskatchewan River Valley system spreads across multiple counties and municipalities. The City of Fort Saskatchewan retained Lime Design to develop the initial section at the northwest end of the River Valley Alliance strategic planning area.

Our intent was to find a balance between contemporary but not trendy design, to choose materials that allow for a cost effective installation and reduced maintenance cost, and a design template approach that will easily adopt a variety of interests and interpretive themes throughout the entire system.

Along with recreational opportunities it creates challenges for wayfinding, multi-use and providing awareness of its origin and history. Lime Design developed a cohesive and contemporary solution creating a system of directional, interpretive and regulatory signs. This vibrant addition improves and enhances the visitor experience transforming this public space for our community.”
