Victoria, BC is abundant with bakeries, cafés, and restaurants and a number of them are making brownies. Best Brownies explores the variety of sweet treats available and describes their distinguishing characteristics. In this book, the reader discovers what sets these top-notch brownies apart by learning about their special ingredients, the techniques used to make them, and the people who concoct them.

Delicious shades of butter yellow, brown, and red emulate the richness, flavours, and energy associated with brownies. Stripes, dots, and a combination of typefaces add a sense of fun. Each bakery, café or restaurant is featured over four pages with testimonials from brownie-lovers between them. The book includes a map, a chart for an easy comparison, and a recipe, so you can start making your perfect brownie at home.  The intention of the book is to inform as well as to have the reader’s mouth watering by the end.
