Uninvited: Talking Back to Plato
McGill-Queen’s University Press
This cover features a historical female figure shaking a finger at a faded image of Plato. In contrast to Plato’s Symposium, an event where a group of invited men spoke about the nature of love, this visual brings women to the foreground, giving them full permission to speak and to reinvent this topic. Where women were previously absent (uninvited), they now hold the floor.
