Oliver Jones is a world-renowned jazz musician from Montreal whose career has garnered him many awards and honourary doctorates. Since he began playing the piano at age five in his local church, his life has been dedicated to musical performance and recording. 

This Canada Post stamp features a seated image of Jones at the piano inside of a standing image that illustrates his charismatic and animated side. The black and white photo pairing juxtaposes a punchy block of lime green, which adds play and movement to the composition similar to jazz.

The Official First Day Cover showcases Jones in performance and the cancellation stamp incorporates a vinyl record to refer to the many albums he has recorded.
