Hunters on the Track
William Penny and the Search for Franklin
McGill-Queen’s University Press
An archival drawing of Assistance Bay in the Canadian Arctic is combined with a map of the probable route of the Franklin Expedition as a backdrop to the story of Scottish navigator William Penny, who led the first maritime expedition to trace the missing Sir John Franklin. A lighter colour scheme and the wrapping of the imagery from front to back hints at the endlessness of ice and sky in the northern landscape.
