Catalogue and Exhibit Design
Bruce Peel Special Collections, University of Alberta
All Under Heaven is a scholarly exhibit catalogue that examines a Chinese history from various perspectives through the discussion of maps, illustrations, and texts from the Frank Sully collection.
In a more traditional style, each text entry in the catalogue was accompanied by one or more images. These were not to be cropped substantially, but to be used as authentically as possible. For emphasis on the works, they were hit with a gloss varnish, which stood out against the matte finish of the paper. The overall design is elegant and classic.
