Black History Month 2012   Canada Post Corporation

Black History Month of 2012 features Viola Desmond and John Ware. Desmond, arrested in 1945 for sitting in the "whites-only"
section of a Nova Scotia theatre, created an impetus for a decade-long lobbying campaign to repeal the provincial government's
segregation laws. Ware, a Canadian Cowboy of the late1800s, pioneered steer-wrestling, now a highlight at the Calgary Stampede,
and became a folk hero through his great stature and abilities.
