Black History Month 2009   Canada Post Corporation

In collaboration with illustrator Suzanne Duranceau, we developed Canada Post's first set of stamps celebrating Black History
Month. They honoured two outstanding individuals. Abraham Shaddhelped fugitive slaves on the Underground Railway and
became the first Black person elected to public office in this country. Rosemary Brown was the first Black woman in public
office in Canada, chosen by British Columbia voters in 1972 to represent them in the province's legislative assembly.
